HELLO, DA!!Wow! It's been ... what? Three years since I made an entry here!?
I just thought I'd chime in to update on where I've been, what I've been up to and how I'm planning on being active here again!! Let's break down this journal into a few segments for easy reading!
Where have I been?
If you follow me on Twitter, you probably know I haven't been dead at all, ahaha! I've been on hiatus from dA and adoptables because with where my art job has been headed, I just haven't had the time to join in groups and draw around here like I used to. (Although I HAVE been working on something in the back burner which you'll find out about if you keep reading!!)

Wow! It's been ... what? Three years since I made an entry here!?
I just thought I'd chime in to update on where I've been, what I've been up to and how I'm planning on being active here again!! Let's break down this journal into a few segments for easy reading!
Where have I been?
If you follow me on Twitter, you probably know I haven't been dead at all, ahaha! I've been on hiatus from dA and adoptables because with where my art job has been headed, I just haven't had the time to join in groups and draw around here like I used to. (Although I HAVE been working on something in the back burner which you'll find out about if you keep reading!!)
I had a bit of a shift in career: I'm still full time freelance but I have been slowly building a career in children's illustration, which has been my long term art goal since pretty much forever! I have an agent and I've been working on building my client base which has been eating about just all of my leisurely art time. Now that I have a firmer routine, I finally feel ready to properly divide my time between art for work and art for leisure! I've really missed dA!
What about Canter species?
OKAY... I THINK I'M READY TO SPILL THE BEANS NOW.
While Canters started as a closed species ARPG idea that I made in my second last year of university, I can honestly say I've KIND OF NEVER STOPPED BUILDING THEIR WORLD FOR THE PAST FEW YEARS, WHOOPS!! To the extent where I've written & manuscripted several books worth of content, and so I'm excited to announce: There's going to be an ongoing Canterwit webcomic by me!!!
I've never done any sort of long term illustration project before and I've kept the anticipation this pretty quiet - mostly because I wasn't certain I could handle the time and pressure. I'm now at a point where I can happily say that this project has been planned out for months and months, and I'm so excited to unveil it! I really can't tell you all how long I've been working on this, how many chapters I've written and rewritten, but time is my best friend in this scenario as I feel like the storyline is the best possible version of itself and I don't need to nit-pick it so much any more, haha!
The Canter group will become a *very loose* ARPG - with a heavy focus on storytelling and character building, as I won't have the time to heavily moderate it to the extent that it used to be. Regardless, despite the incredibly long hiatus these critters have had, I am so excited to tell their story in full and I sincerely hope you will all enjoy it! There's going to be a prologue story that explains the lore, followed by an ongoing series featuring the four main characters and their journey through each season, friendship & challenges as they discover the true meaning of self love & happiness! It'll all make sense once I get posting the prologue, but I hope you all enjoy it! Thank you for your golden patience with me! I'll post announcements and updates once the first few pages of the prologue get rolling!
What are my plans now?
Well! For starters - I'm craving a fresh start and I'm planning on moving accounts. I regained access to the first dA account I ever made 15 years ago (I'm a fossil) and aspire to move all of my stuff over there. I'll post the account once I've gotten a core membership, changed the username and tidied up a bit - but that's where I'll be! If we're mutuals please don't hesitate to shout out so I can follow you over there once I'm done setting up! (SPEAKING OF CORE THOUGH if anyone would like some artwork in exchange for a membership gift to my new account, drop me a DM and a few refs!)
I think that's just about everything!! TLDR: I'm in a good routine with my new job and can commit to drawing here again, I have a new direction for Canter species group which involves the ongoing creation of a webcomic centred around them & their world, and I'm very excited to be back here!!
